Proposed Delisting from AIM

Vancouver, BC, March 03, 2011 - Further to the announcement by Western Coal Corp. (TSX: WTN, WTN.WT and AIM: WTN) (the "Company" or "Western") of February 7, 2011, a special meeting of Western shareholders to consider the proposed acquisition of the Company by Walter Energy, Inc. will be held on March 8, 2011.

Completion of the proposed acquisition is conditional on approval by Western shareholders at such meeting and by the Supreme Court of British Columbia and satisfaction of other customary conditions, including regulatory and stock exchange approvals.

Subject to the satisfaction or waiver of all conditions precedent, it is currently anticipated that the proposed acquisition will be completed on April 1, 2011.It is expected that trading in the common shares of the Company will be suspended on April 1, 2011 and that that the common shares of the Company will be delisted from AIM on April 2, 2011.
