Westinghouse and Shaw Awarded Nuclear Power Maintenance and Engineering Contract by South Carolina Electric & Gas

PITTSBURGH, July 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Westinghouse Electric
Company today announced that it and The Shaw Group Inc., (NYSE:SGR)
have been awarded a contract by South Carolina Electric & Gas
Company (SCE&G), the principal subsidiary of SCANA Corporation
(NYSE:SCG), to provide nuclear maintenance, modification, refueling
outage and design engineering services to its existing V.C. Summer
Nuclear Station Unit 1 as well as to Units 2 and 3, Westinghouse
AP1000 (TM) nuclear power plants scheduled for completion in 2016
and 2019, respectively. The contract is an extension of the
relationship established by Westinghouse and its consortium team
member, the Nuclear Division of Shaw's Power Group, to provide
engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for the
two new AP1000s to be operated by SCE&G and the South Carolina
Public Service Authority (Santee Cooper). Under the new contract,
Westinghouse and Shaw will provide services for all three units.
