Aerus Service Delivery Platform Selected for Video
Conferencing and Collaboration for the State of Texas
OTTAWA, May 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ - Magor
(TSX-V:MCC) today announced that in partnership with Cumulus
Solutions Inc., Magor has won the opportunity to deploy its
cloud-based Aerus Service Delivery Platform (SDP) for a range of
video and collaboration services throughout the State of Texas' agencies, universities,
counties, public school districts and other state funded
entities.
Cumulus and Magor bid on a competitive request for proposal that
the Department of Information Resources (DIR) issued to supply
transformational, cloud-based video and collaboration technology to
the State of Texas. Cumulus was
awarded a contract through DIR for video, voice, web conferencing,
webcasting and video room installation services.
"Aerus provides a scalable, cloud-based visual collaboration
platform that offers a rich mix of services that will enable the
broad group of organizations throughout the State of Texas to transform the way they
interact with video and collaborate," said Mike Pascoe, President and CEO of Magor.
"Together with Cumulus, we look forward to delivering innovative,
visual collaboration services across the State of Texas."
Visual communication and collaboration enables a multitude of
video-enabled business processes that have not been addressable
with traditional forms of video conferencing. The Aerus SDP brings
people into high quality visual conversations while simultaneously
sharing, viewing and editing concurrent pieces of shared data from
desktops, tablets, smartphones, whiteboards, or other connected
devices.
Jerry Edgerton, President and CEO
of Cumulus said, "By partnering with Magor, we are able to provide
the State of Texas with an
industry-leading cloud-based platform with the flexibility for both
public and private deployment options. With it's unique media
stream switching architecture that lowers overall costs, combined
with an extensive interoperability with legacy video systems, the
Aerus SDP provides us with an exciting opportunity in the market."
He added, "We believe that through this contract award we can help
organizations transform how their end users interact and become
more productive with video and collaboration."
