            Franklin Resources Announces Quarterly Dividend

Franklin Resources, Inc. [NYSE:BEN] announced a quarterly cash
dividend of $0.075 per share payable on July 15, 2003 to shareholders
of record on June 30, 2003. The quarterly dividend of $0.075 is
equivalent to the dividend paid for the prior quarter and represents a
7.14% increase over the dividend paid for the same quarter last year.
