                               DIRECTORATE CHANGE


London, UK -17 March 2008: Emap plc (EMA.L) announces that Derek Carter, CEO
Emap Communications, is leaving Emap plc after an outstanding career spanning
almost 30 years.

Subject to the Scheme to effect the recommended acquisition of Emap by Eden
Bidco Limited becoming effective, Derek will leave on 20 March, and will resign
from the Board of Emap plc on the same day.


Alun Cathcart, Executive Chairman of Emap, said:

"On behalf of all his Board colleagues, I would like to thank Derek for his
contribution to the Emap Group over almost 30 years and in particular his
professional counsel and support while we carried out the review of Group
structure last year. I have personally enjoyed a close working relationship with
Derek and admire the work he has done during nearly 11 years as CEO of Emap
Communications as he has led the business to its industry leading position. We
wish him every success in the future."

Assuming the Scheme becomes effective, the listing of Emap shares on the
Official List will be cancelled and Emap shares will cease to be admitted to
trading on the London Stock Exchange. In anticipation of that event, the
Directors of the Board of Emap plc have all been notified that the Board will be
dissolved once the Scheme becomes effective and all relevant regulatory
authorities will be notified.
