          CHEMRING AWARDED 5 YEAR BRITISH AEROSPACE CONTRACT

Chemring  Group  PLC  (Chemring), today announced that its subsidiary,
Kembrey  Wiring  Systems  Ltd.,  has  been awarded a British Aerospace
(BAe)  preferred supplier contract to supply wiring harness assemblies
for  all  its  military aircraft. The contract is for an intial 5 year
period.

Several  companies  world  wide  competed  in  the first review of the
selection  process which was very thorough and competition was fierce.
Kembrey's  Computer  Aided  Design and engineering expertise together
with  their  new  investments  in  the  latest  laser  technology were
significant factors in BAe s decision.

The  BAe  contract  adds  to  Kembrey's already strong presence in the
aerospace  sector  with existing Long Term Agreements with Rolls Royce
and  BMW/RR.   It also complements a healthy order book at the Swindon
facility  and  provides  further  strong  growth  and  employment
opportunities for the future.
