The following amendment has been made to the 'Purchase of Own Securities'
announcement released today at 08.52 under RNS No 7605C.

The "Amount Bought Back" should have read EUR 8,503,462 (ITL 16,465,000,000) 
and not EUR 8,500,000 (ITL 16,458,295,000) as previously stated.

All other details remain unchanged.
