Two widely followed European benchmark stock indexes failed to
show prices for about an hour after markets opened Monday due to
issues with index calculation, according to the operator.
The Stoxx Europe 600 and the Euro Stoxx 50 failed to show
changes in their levels at open due to "input data problems,"
according to Andreas von Brevern, a spokesman for index operator
Deutsche Boerse AG.
Mr. Von Brevern declined to elaborate on what caused the issues
but said the operator was working to resolve them.
Trading in underlying shares for the indexes, listed in
countries including the U.K., France and Germany, continued to
trade during the outage. The stock indexes resumed trading about an
hour after the market opened.
"The data dissemination problems have been resolved. The indices
are being calculated in the right way," Mr. Von Brevern said.
