QUALIFYING SHARE OWNERSHIP TRUST (QUEST)

Kelda Group QUEST Trustees Limited has today purchased 10,498 ordinary shares
in Kelda Group plc (the Company) at a price of 431.25 pence per share. The
shares were purchased from the Company's employee share trust (ESOT) and will
be used to satisfy options under the Company's save-as-you-earn share option
scheme.

All employees (including executive directors) are potential beneficiaries of
the QUEST and of the ESOT and, as such, are deemed by the Companies Act to be
interested in all of the shares held in both trusts.
