On 29 April 2003 Electronic Data Processing PLC ("the Company") was notified
that Herald Investment Trust plc ("Herald") purchased 100,000 ordinary shares in
the Company on 28 April 2003.  As a result, Herald now holds 1,981,000 ordinary
shares in the Company, amounting to 8.04 per cent. of the issued share capital.
