Eurostat is scheduled to release euro area consumer prices for March at 5:00 am ET Thursday. The statistical office is likely to confirm a 0.1 percent annual fall in prices in March.

The euro showed mixed trading against the other major currencies before the data. While the euro slipped against the yen and the franc, it held steady against the pound. Against the greenback, it recovered.

The euro was quoted at 1.1269 against the greenback, 123.00 against the yen, 0.7963 against the pound and 1.0886 against the franc at 4:55 am ET.
