The Company has been notified today for the purposes of the initial
implementation of the Transparency Directive that Aberforth Partners LLP has an
indirect interest in 5,185,051 Ordinary Shares of 5p each which, represents
10.58% of the issued share capital of Oxford Instruments plc.

The number of voting rights is also 5,185,051.
