Bourque Industries today announced that the Company successfully
demonstrated a plasma spray application of a micro-meters thin
layer of pure Kryron material onto a metallic surface Saturday at
Controlled Thermal Technologies in Phoenix.
The test indicated that components can be coated with Kryron and
produced on a large scale. Kryron has been shown in other tests to
have high strength, high conductivity, and anti-corrosive
properties. Bourque believes that components coated with Kryron may
be a cost-effective material alternative for a wide range of
industries.
"The plasma spray process is an essential tool for companies
that want to make a high-performance, high-cost material available
on a cost-efficient basis," said Danny Rosetta, owner and general
manager of Controlled Thermal Technologies. "Today, Bourque
Industries demonstrated that their Kryron material can be applied
to industrial components in context of large-scale
manufacturing."
Products made from common metals and plasma-coated with Kryron
can be produced at a fraction of the cost compared to those made
from solid Kryronized materials. This breakthrough could
potentially allow the key material benefits of Kryron to be
engineered into lower-cost components for industries like
agriculture and heavy equipment, automotive, aviation and space
technology, and consumer electronics, among others.
The plasma spray process allows for the application of
micro-thin layers of Kryron to be applied in a manner that retains
a shape and form nearly identical to the original component. This
may allow plasma-sprayed Kryron to be used in manufacturing
processes with close tolerances.
About Bourque and Kryron
Bourque Industries, Inc. is a publicly-traded advanced materials
science company (OTC: BORK) based in Tucson, Ariz. Bourque holds
all patents for Kryron-based technology.
Kryron is a patented, state-of-the-art metal alloying process
that significantly alters the material characteristics of common
metals, increasing strength, conductivity, melting point, and
imbuing the metals with anti-corrosive and non-reactive properties.
Management believes that unique Kryronized alloys have broad uses
across a range of industrial segments.
