Prizes Awarded to Nine Amateur Filmmakers for Demonstrating How Bad Things Happen to Good Computers SEATTLE, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Decho Corporation, an EMC Company (NYSE: EMC), today announced the winners of the first Mozy(TM) Computer Nightmare contest. Decho asked participants to make and submit videos of their worst computer nightmares. Entries, hailed from all parts of the United States, depicted tortured computers and creative scenes in which laptops and desktops were unintentionally destroyed. The Mozy online backup service provides simple, automatic and secure backup of critical information at a remote location, protecting against hard drive failure, computer loss or theft, natural disaster as well as the more far-fetched nightmares of contest participants. Internet celebrity and comedian, iJustine, introduced the contest on the ComputerNightmare.com website, which ran from November 12 to January 6 and was open to residents of the United States. Nine winners were chosen with the grand prizewinner receiving a trip for two to Hawaii. First, second and third prizewinners received an Apple MacBook Pro, Apple iPod Touch and Flip Video camcorders respectively. Winning submissions included: -- Don't Anger Clippy - A dramatic look at what happens to three guys who ignore the friendly Microsoft Word Helper. -- Falcor, the Red-Nosed Urinator - A holiday-inspired vignette gone awry about a man whose new computer meets an untimely fate after his dog has a potty training mishap. -- Dial Mac for Murder - In true horror movie fashion, a husband comes home to find his wife attacked by a MacBook. The rogue computer then turns its sights on the husband. "In reviewing these submissions, we were floored with the response from the contest and creativity of our Mozy community," said David Robinson, vice president of Mozy marketing at Decho Corp. "We truly enjoyed watching each of the entries; narrowing them down to only a few winners was challenging. We want to thank our participants, and remind everyone that computer nightmares do happen, but Mozy online backup is there to make sure that your most important stuff is protected, even in the scariest situations."
