No dividend has been recommended by the Board of Directors on the paid-up
share capital of the Company as on 31 March, 2000. As already advised,
the Register of Members of the Company at Calcutta will remain closed
from 1st September, 2000 to 23rd September, 2000, both days inclusive,
and during this period registration of transfer of shares will remain
suspended.

We would further advise that the Twenty-second Annual General Meeting of
the Company will be held on Monday, 25 September, 2000 at 'Science City
Main Auditorium', JBS Haldane Avenue, P.O. G. K. Road, Calcutta 700 046.
