EXTRACTS FROM CHAIRMAN'S AGM STATEMENT
At Emap plc's Annual General Meeting held in London today, the Company's
Chairman Adam Broadbent made the following comments:
"Since the trading update provided at the time of the preliminary announcement
in May the business is performing reasonably well overall, although airtime
revenues across our music television operations have slowed quite quickly.
"Consumer magazine circulation revenues in the UK remain robust and we are
seeing good progress on the advertising front as well.
"Across our B2B operations recruitment revenues and B2B display advertising have
improved and the forward booking position on the major B2B exhibitions is good.
"Radio advertising has remained strong across the first quarter with our London
stations, Kiss and Magic, performing particularly well.
"In France the economic environment remains tough and we are trading on a par
with the prior year so far in the current year.
"In the round we remain cautious about any material improvement in the wider
media markets, but at this relatively early stage in the year we remain in line
to meet our expectations for the full year."
