    Publication of Supplementary Prospectus by Westpac Banking Corporation and WestpacTrust Securities NZ Limited

    The following supplementary prospectus has been approved by the United Kingdom Listing Authority (the "UKLA") and is available for
viewing:

    Supplementary prospectus dated 24 June 2008 (the "Supplementary Prospectus") to the Base Prospectus dated 9 November 2007 relating to
the Programme for the Issuance of Debt Instruments established by Westpac Banking Corporation and WestpacTrust Securities NZ Limited (acting
through its London branch) and unconditionally and irrevocably guaranteed by Westpac Banking Corporation in the case of instruments issued
by WestpacTrust Securities NZ Limited. The Supplementary Prospectus incorporates by reference the Westpac Banking Corporation media release
dated 4 June 2008 announcing how it expects the assets and liabilities of St.George Bank Limited to be treated, if the proposed merger of
those companies is implemented (the "Media Release").
