BERLIN--Luxury sports-car maker Porsche is considering an
increase in deliveries of its new Macan crossover model as the
planned production for 2014 is already sold out, German weekly
magazine WirtschaftsWoche reported Saturday.
Without revealing its sources, the magazine said that the auto
maker plans to increase its production for the model, which comes
onto the market only in April, to 80,000 vehicles from the present
annual target of 50,000 units.
The high demand for the Macan model means that Porsche Chief
Executive Matthias Mueller might already achieve the company's
global delivery goal of 200,000 vehicles annually by the end of
this year rather than 2018 as forecast, according to the
report.
Last year, Porsche global sales volume reached 162,145 cars.
Porsche couldn't be reached for comment.
