NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Beacon Redevelopment Industrial Corporation (Pink Sheets: BCND) issues the following update to shareholders as to the progress of the Westmoreland Glass Factory project in Grapeville, Hempfield Township, Pennsylvania. Last week, representatives of Renaissance Renovations and Redevelopment LLC ("RR&R") met with agents of ATC Associates at the site with respect to obtaining the environmental survey and other environmental considerations. All parties agreed that the current weather conditions impair the ability to immediately take soil samples necessary to proceed. "We want to salvage the antique brick as quickly as possible, we need to have the proper surveys to proceed. As soon as the ground thaws, we will be moving forward with all required studies and surveys," said Gary Blackburn, special contracting consultant to RR&R. BCND also wishes to correct and clarify its prior press release regarding the permitting process. While the company submitted the necessary documents to RR&R to file the application, it was determined by RR&R that submitting a demolition permit application to Hempfield Township, Pennsylvania, would be premature as said application requires specific details as to the contractor who would actually be doing the work. "We cannot finalize contracts with all of our subcontractors until we know where we are as to the environmental survey," Mr. Blackburn explained. BCND believes that this matter is non-material to the company as on December 19, 2006, Hempfield Township officials specifically directed the owners to demolish the building.
