Los Andes Announces Closing of Private Placement

Los Andes Copper Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:LA) ("Los Andes", or the "Company") is
pleased to announce the Company has closed its previously announced non-brokered
private placement of 2,000,000 shares priced at $0.4675 per share for gross
proceeds of $935,000.


All securities issued pursuant to the private placement will be subject to a
hold period of four months and one day expiring on July 5, 2011. The proceeds of
the private placement will be used to fund exploration and development work on
the Company's Vizcachitas project, and for general working capital purposes.
