"The significant gains for the past year in the USX China Index reflect the heavy buying interest shown by investors toward Chinese-focused public companies that have their securities traded on U.S. regulated stock exchanges," said Tim Halter, Managing Director of the USX China Index. "The past year's performance underscores two important trends. In the U.S. markets, Chinese stocks are outpacing U.S. companies and Chinese companies listed in the U.S. are significantly outperforming their counterparts listed directly on Chinese exchanges." The USX China Index was launched in October 2003 as the only index in the world devoted exclusively to Chinese-focused public companies traded on U.S. stock exchanges. The biggest gainer within the USX China Index during the month of December was Sinopec Beijing Yanhua Petrochemical Co. Ltd.
