I thought it’s mostly for overextended investors, who can’t afford to lose!
But as you mentioned, the stop loss limit order price is not guaranteed.

I've seen it several times myself. I got stopped out of a play with a down spike and then within an hr it was double in price from its previous high.

Would you pay $1 million or more for this company? Of course not. It’s trading where it should.
