DELL Dell Inc. (MM)

Dell Inc. (DELL), which has been in buyout talks with Silver Lake Partners, has hired Evercore Partners Inc. (EVR) to advise Dell on the possibility of a higher offer, Bloomberg News reported Monday, citing two people with knowledge of the matter.

If a Silver Lake deal is formalized, Evercore would run a go-shop process to search for potentially superior offers, Bloomberg reported.

Silver Lake and Michael Dell have been seeking financing for a deal that could be worth about $23 billion.
