The judges at the Chicago show praised the innovative features of the SmartFind Plus, the only U.S.-approved all-digital EPIRB available, which is equipped with a battery approved for air transportation and a carry-safe bracket to eliminate false activation. Judges also cited its low cost. As well as the features described by the judges, the SmartFind Plus G5 (with GPS) and the standard SmartFind E5 boasts a high brightness LED locator light to achieve type approval.
