                                  TRADING UPDATE

UBC Media Group plc intends to announce its results for the six months to 30
September 2003 on 24 November 2003. Prior to entering its Closed Period, the
Company is issuing the following trading update:

Consistent with the comments contained in the Chairman's AGM Statement issued in
August, the Group continues to trade in line with market expectations.

The Production Division and Classic Gold Digital have both traded to budget
during the first six months of the new financial year. At the time of the AGM in
August, the company indicated that, in common with the rest of the radio
industry, sales of airtime by the Commercial Division in the first two months of
the year were below target. Since then however, the sharp recovery in airtime
sales experienced in June has continued and prospects for the remainder of the
year appear positive.

Simon Cole, Chief Executive, commented:

"Once again, in this period, we are looking forward to meeting expectations.
With the balance of the financial year in mind, I'm particularly encouraged by
the rapid return to growth in the airtime sales market, which has been
pronounced since July. With High Street retailers now reporting that sales of
digital radios represent up to 50% of the market, the trend in the take-up of
digital radio in the UK matches our expectations and underpins our confidence in
the value of the portfolio of digital assets we have built up."
