Additional Listing

The MTL Instruments Group plc ("MTL Instruments" or the "Company") 
announces that it has today made an application to the UK Listing Authority for 
332,544 Ordinary Shares of 10 pence each (the "New Ordinary Shares") to be 
admitted to the Official List and has also applied for the New Ordinary Shares 
to be admitted to trading on the London Stock Exchange's market for listed 
securities.

The application comprises a block listing of 282,544 Ordinary Shares in respect 
of the Company's Unapproved Share Option Scheme, and a block listing of 50,000 
Ordinary Shares in respect of the Company's SAYE Option Scheme.  The New 
Ordinary Shares will, on issue, rank pari passu with the Company's existing 
ordinary shares.

It is expected that admission of the New Ordinary Shares will become effective 
on or around 11 October 2007.
