Fitness First plc: Additional Listing


Fitness First plc ("Fitness First" or the "Company") announces that application
has been made to the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange for the
admission of 4,501,600 ordinary shares of 12.5p each (the "New Ordinary Shares")
to (i) the Official List of the UK Listing Authority, and (ii) trading on the
London Stock Exchange's market for listed securities ("Admission").


The New Ordinary Shares are being allotted and issued to the vendors of The
Fitness Company Freizeitenlagen GmbH ("The Fitness Company"), a business
acquired by Fitness First in February 2000, in respect of the exercise of a put
and call option over shares which were issued to them as part consideration for
their shares in The Fitness Company.


It is expected that Admission will become effective and that dealing in the New
Ordinary Shares, which will on issue rank pari passu with the existing issued
ordinary share capital of Fitness First, will commence on 31 January 2002.
Following the issue of the New Ordinary Shares, Fitness First will have
96,472,610 ordinary shares in issue.
