Education and publishing firm Pearson PLC (PSON.LN) Tuesday said, as at 1200 GMT on July 4, it has received valid acceptances in respect of a total 53,007,555 Education Development International PLC (EDD.LN) shares, representing 94.04% of the issued share capital of Education Development relating to the acquisition of Education Development.

MAIN FACTS:

-Dispatching compulsory acquisition notices to acquire compulsorily any remaining Education Development shares.

-Offer will remain open until further notice; At least 14 days of notice will be given by an announcement before the Offer is closed.

-Shares of Pearson at 1128 GMT up 7 pence or 0.6% at GBP12.09.
