             Appointment of Non-executive Chairman and Directors              


At the Board Meeting of Circle Communications plc ("the Company") held on
Wednesday 2nd July, Sir David Nicholas, Non-executive Chairman, Arthur Price
and Ian Buckley, Non-executive Directors of the Company, have resigned from
the Board with immediate effect.  This follows the completion of the
acquisition of the Company by Southern Star Group Ltd which was
unconditionally accepted by shareholders on 27th June, 1997.  The current
Executive Directors of the Company have remained on the Board of the Company
whilst the following Non-executive Directors have been appointed to the Board
with immediate effect:
