Update Change in Substantial Shareholder Interests

Aztec has been informed today that Gallagher Holdings Ltd ("Gallagher") ceased
to have a significant shareholding in Aztec on 11 December 2006, as a result of
the termination of a conditional sale agreement between Gallagher and Australian
Royalties Corporation Pty Ltd ("ARC") and the agreement by Gallagher to acquire
from ARC the 25,925,926 ordinary shares in Mount Gibson Iron Ltd ("Mt Gibson")
to be issued to ARC on acceptance of Mt Gibson's takeover offer for Aztec
shares.

Mt Gibson informed Aztec today that its interest in Aztec is now 915,949,052
ordinary shares or 80.89%, including shares owned by parties who have accepted
the Offer. On 11 December 2006 Mt Gibson's interest in Aztec was 828,556,838
ordinary shares or 73.17%.
