Its innovative radio access network (RAN), core network, and backhaul products dramatically reduce the total cost of ownership, giving mobile network operators (MNOs) the ability to profitably serve remote, low income and low population locations, a proposition that is not feasible with existing systems. NuRAN's main business model is its Network as a Service (NaaS) offering, a solution which features carrier-grade mobile network infrastructure equipment (e.g. base station radios) using proprietary breakthrough small cell solutions to offer better coverage, the lowest installed cost, the most efficient power consumption and reduced satellite bandwidth usage. The NaaS model not only provides the network equipment, but NuRAN finances, builds, operates and maintains the cellular sites. Revenue is either a revenue share with a minimum guarantee or threshold, or a fixed monthly payment. Contract periods of 5-10 years+ provide a long-term, recurring revenue stream. The model allows MNOs to focus spending on new technologies while being able to reach remote areas which is often a condition of their licences.
