Windfire Capital Corp.: Appointment of New Director

Windfire Capital Corp. (TSX VENTURE:WIF) (the "Company"), wishes to announce
that David Heighington has resigned as a Director of the Company effective June
15, 2011. In his place, Norman Meier has been appointed to the Board of
Directors of the Company.


Norman V. Meier, Ph D.

Norman Meier has been an investment professional since 1995. He has held
executive positions with top-tier global investment firms such as MAN
Investments and AWD in Switzerland, as well as Canaccord Capital Corporation in
Canada. He was also the CEO of a Swiss financial services firm he founded. Mr.
Meier has very strong relationships with institutional investors in through out
North America and Europe.


He is currently a principal and the CEO of Athena Capital Partners, a broker
dealer in California, focuseing primarily on financing private equity projects.


As a former stock broker and financial consultant he raised over $400 million
from private clients in Europe for various financial products and over $600
million worldwide from institutional investors in the hedge fund industry. 


He has also acted as a board member for several public and private gold and
uranium exploration companies 


Norman Meier has a PhD in Human Behavior, an MBA and a BA, all from Newport
University in Switzerland. He holds two designations from the Canadian
Securities Institute: a Canadian Investment Manager Designation and a
Derivatives Market Specialist Designation. 


The Company would also like to report the grant of 155,000 incentive stock
options to certain directors, officers, employees and consultants of the Company
at a price of $0.28 per common share, exercisable for a 5 year period.
