GREAT, SIMPLE explanation from Peter Schiff - if countries sell us less stuff, they'll borrow less from us.

I sure hope he is right about gold mining stocks - that they will be the victor in the trade war!

He brings up a really good point about costs related to defense of other countries. If we are not wanting to spend the money to do it, those countries won't play along with past practices that helped support the US economy.

Great discussion of the miners.....and the reasons to buy them. He does such a great job of seamlessly and coherently explaining everything.

That was a must watch video....thanks for posting it!!

I totally, 100% agree with what Bill O'Reilly is saying in this short interview. The problem I see is will China go to war with us before Trump bankrupts them. My guess is most likely.

This is exactly what I was expecting to happen in the Canadian election. Kevin O'Leary says it all in this interview. The Conservative Party is presently getting their asses kicked in the polls. If they lose the election, my guess is the mining policies will probably not change. That won't be good for mining in Canada.

What's wrong with the people up there? Unfucking believable.

THIS IS A MUST WATCH PETER SCHIFF VIDEO. This interview is from yesterday, gold was up another $100+ today.

What he says in this video is speaking to ANYONE that's holding gold mining shares. Like anyone here holding FMG shares. Peter is right with what he's saying about Trump and especially right about why investors should be in very undervalued mining shares.

He calling to get into the miners because he thinks the move higher is coming fairly soon, with lower oil prices the producing mines should have blow-out numbers this quarter. That should get a lot of attention.

Something is wrong with the dollar. Check this out.
https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/index/dxy

The dollar is down nearly 2% today on a very bad market day. Money should be moving into the dollar, but it's not. Whoa.

This lady explains what's happening and she's right. Fiat is shit.

I would add this ingredient to a much higer gold price and move into the miner's theory.

IMO we may be seeing a potential black swan event coming with China. I just heard on TV that Trump has put what amounts to 145% tariffs on China. I think those are in place now or soon to come online. Those tariffs will basically screw China economically. China is NOT backing down and has become more defiant on Trump raising the tariffs in the last few days.

Pete Hegseth is in Panama talking about the threat China is at the Canal and China is firing back at his comments. The rhetoric is escalating, and it seems to be becoming more volatile and serious. Rand Paul did an interview I saw yesterday, and he talked about how if Trump put big tariffs on China that such a move could have Xi invading Taiwan. How would that work for the global economy? IMO that would set the real shit storm in motion.

Where would the gold price move? How would that affect the gold miners? Is that why gold has gone up over $200 the last two trading days?

My take would be if that happens, we would see major moves higher in both the gold price and the miners.

Yes, I believe it has started in earnest now with the gold price where it is and earnings for the broader market going lower with a perceived recession coming.

When the Lemmings finally come to terms with a recession happening, I think the overall market corrects lower going forward. IMO that HAS to happen for the rotation into the broader mining sector to begin, but that's what I see anyway. This will be a process and not happen overnight.

This process won't be a straight up move and I think most likely we see a significant correction in gold at some point, but after that happens will come the BIG move higher. JMO

SeaBlue SeaBlue 17 시간 전
That sounds right. I can't specifically remember how many shares there were after the consolidation.....maybe 100 or 120 million?

So you're making the call that the rotation into miners has finally started in earnest, eh? I will have to watch more closely now as time permits. I get the feeling you are right.

FMG should still be holding a LOT of Nexgold shares. How many they're currently holding I'm not sure, but we still should have a nice block.

I think they had a share consolidation and restructured the overall share count when Nexgold bought out Treasury, if I recall correctly. I believe we also sold some shares when they merged with Black Wolf?

Yep, disco was a fad, and I was right in the middle of it, because I was in high school when it was really big, so it was fun for me. When I think about it now I just laugh and recognize how much we change with age and how we're influenced by society and fashion. When everybody else is doing it, you have to follow.

I think we're seeing the big money moving into the PRODUCING miners currently. Was watching the biz news this morning and they put on the screen shares of the Agnicos, Newmonts, etc. and they were all up over 5%, just today. These moves are the progression we'll continue to see as the gold price continues to move higher and the money flow out the high-beta stocks moves more into the perceived safe haven mining shares.

As the Producers continue to move higher, IMO we'll eventually see the money flow go into the mid-tier miners and developers, then finally into the juniors and explorers. IMO that process is currently in motion, so as the overall markets continue to correct that should be positive for the miners. The rotation has begun.

I totally remember what it looked like! Yes, like Boogie Nights. I even had a few pairs of bell bottom pants as they were being sold as normal blue jeans back then. I remember gold chains, silk shirts and guys unbuttoning the shirts one or two buttons too low. It faded out right before my teenage years. The SNL skit with Steve Martin made me laugh. Just another trend. Like almost all others it faded out and is viewed rather comically today.

Gold bounced back strong. Our shares even creeped up a fraction. Imagine that.

Trump to me just appears to be grandstanding with the tariffs. Maybe not with China and India, but with some of the others definitely so. I guess it is a way to effectuate a better trade situation for the US with other countries - which is long overdue - but it is being done in a manner that I personally do not like. We'll see what results he gets from this.

I don't know if this gold price move is just a technical retest of the highs we saw around $3200, but gold is up almost $75 again this morning.

I think investors are waking up to buying gold every day as we see what's really going on now behind the curtain with debt and the coming money printing from the Banksters. The fear factor in the economy is building, but IMO we haven't seen the BIG flight into gold yet. It's coming.

I agree 100%, because what he talked about in the interview had NOTHING to really do with his area of expertise, His title for the Company is VP Exploration and Project Operations. I didn't really hear him speak to anything in those areas. Oh, well. Maxwell's a Talker, that's for sure.

If You ever saw the movie "Boogie Nights" starring Mark Wahlberg and Burt Reynolds, that was a good representation of the 70's disco era. The cloths they wore in the movie were accurately depicted. The shirts were all made of slinky, rayon material, tight pants, and platform shoes. I think back on it now and it was really quite hideous, but that was the fashion style at the time. Of course, disco was all the rage, so we dressed accordingly. All in the pursuit of picking up chicks. LOL

SeaBlue SeaBlue 20 시간 전
Yes, stay on topic. I don't understand why they would have him on a mining podcast and then start talking about topics not related to mining. Do you think there is a reason they did that or was it just the personal preference of the interviewer?
👍️0
SeaBlue SeaBlue 20 시간 전
Ha! The disco years were right before I became a teenager so I do not remember a whole lot from it. Yes, the clothes were a bit funky, but that is his choice. Frankly, if people are executing and moving things forward I don't care how they dress. Early in my work career I wore a suit every day and have rarely worn one since then.

The video was a bit odd in the sense that it was a mining video but the interviewer seemed more interested in topics that were not related to mining.

I think Maxwell may just be a bigger bullshitter than Dan is. LOL

90% of what he said in that interview was just a bunch of nothing. The only thing I want to hear him talk about is what is the timeline on the mine being permitted and expound on all the gold they're supposedly finding. I didn't hear him say anything about either of those subjects. How the Hell he can predict they may be mining Duparquet in 2033 is pure conjecture if you ask me. Let's just get the damn thing permitted first.

That outfit he had on looks like the shit I was wearing back in my disco days in the 1970's. Is that making a comeback? Maybe they were going dancing after the interview?

I think that until anyone gives this company credit for the gold we have in the ground, it doesn't mean squat what Dan says about finding 10M oz. at Duparquet.

Talk is cheap, especially from Dan. I'm not saying that to be an Asshole, but nothing Dan has ever said in regard to positive things for this Company in my recollection has EVER helped our share price. Somebody else here may remember something, but I can't.

I remember when they made the announcement about acquiring Duparquet, our share price went lower, not higher. IMO Dan has done nothing to help our share price appreciation. I suppose we all have our own opinions on why that is.

The one interesting thing about the video posted below regarding Dan - he mentions that they are working towards Duparquet being a 10m gold ounce mine. Interesting Mish article speaking to trade with China. What happens if what Trump is threatening should happen? Mish doesn't think it would be good, and I would agree with him.

Would or could it start something bigger than just a trade war? Who knows, but it certainly wouldn't be good for the world economy. IMO this could be a huge black swan or possible catalyst for bigger issues to escalate down the road.

This is very good for higher PM prices going forward.

I didn't see Duparquet on the list of projects they posted in the article. I'm not informed enough on where we currently stand in permitting Duparquet to get back up and running again, but Paul told me that this fast-tracking of the mines would help us in that endeavor. That's a good thing.

Paul also told me that the Springpole EA permitting most likely wouldn't be helped by the fast-tracking because we are so far along now in that process.

Yes, anyone holding shares of Canadian miners/gas, etc. better hope and pray Pierre P. and the conservative party wins in this next election. It would DEFINITELY be a good thing for the outlook of these mines going forward.

We saw Carney and the Losers in the liberal party TALK about reversing their idiotic policies on mining, but if they get back in office will they actually, do it? Let's just say I'm skeptical they would. We know the conservative party is PRO mining, we need them back in power.

I don't know how much Trump has hurt Pierre P's. chances to win, but I don't think he's helped him much with his rhetoric about Canada. We'll see what happens.

What he's talking about when he said to BRING FORWARD SOME OF THE CAPITAL, WE WOULD HAVE BEEN EXPECTING TO RECEIVE LATE THIS YEAR OR EARLY NEXT YEAR is this.

The agreement FMG had with FM was to get that $5M of money AFTER Springpole was permitted. Keith saw fit to have FM give it to us before the EA was officially in hand. That's what he was talking about. Real simple.

IMO the biggest question mark going forward is what the Hell is going on with the Indian nation? I think he mentioned something about them being involved in the final EA approval. What is actually needed by them is not clear. Paul told me they were at PDAC and he wined and dined them, but that was about all he told me.

At the 1 minute mark Dan says, " period of elevated spend".
"For us it is funding that comes in at a pretty important time.  We are still at a level of pretty elevated spend as we are going through the final stages of the environmental process at Springpole. "
Interesting phrase at the 1:08 mark.

"It's really modifying a deal to bring forward some of the capital we would have been expecting to receive late this year or early next year."

Was the wording referring to the expiration date of the warrents or maybe an EA Approval Date?

O.K., the man being interviewed in this video speaks some to what I said earlier last week.

Why aren't the dollar/U.S. treasuries being bought up now as a safe haven? He mentions the dollar weakening at a time when it should be strong and moving higher. Trump and his people want a weaker dollar, but that may not work very well for a bigger picture problem later.

This Guy is portending a coming recession and maybe another financial crash. He may be right.

Schiff has NEVER been a glass half full Guy. LOL , but he tells it as he sees it and IMO he's right.

The Powers That Be have abused the fake money printing for too long and the onerous debt they've created is coming due.

Doge is good, but IMO it's way too little, too late. This country should have never gone off the gold standard. The corruption runs too deep and unless something drastically positive happens for this country the patient is going to die on the operating table. IMO the Reset is now very much in motion.

IMO what Trump is attempting to do is commendable, but the U.S. has been the Stooge for the rest of the world for too long. How's that going to work for continued dollar dominance when Trump wants that dynamic to end? I don't think it will end well for the dollar. Let's hope it will end much better for PM's and the miners.

Trump seems to think the rest of the world has to remain subservient to what we tell them to do. This tariff stand off may very well bring all this shit to a head.

As far as where we're at in the move into the miners goes, I believe once this coming recession plays out that our time will FINALLY come and investors will make the rotation into miners. There is a light at the end of this long fucking tunnel.

Not a rosy picture for US painted by Peter Schiff.
We need to keep buying gold and silver stocks as the Dollar gets weaker against foreign currencies and precious metals.
If Peter Schiff is right, probably not a bright future for Republicans either.  Big question to be answered is:  Can Trump turn things around in less than 2 years?  Doge needs to keep finding and reporting about  waste, fraud and financial crazy stuff or Republicans may lose the house and the Senate.
Interesting times.

This is what I don't get about Donald Trump. He may think himself the BEST negotiator ever born, but what happens when the people being tariffed don't do what is expected of them to do? Like what China did by putting their own tariffs on us and NOT capitulating to our tariffs.

What did Trump and his advisors expect would happen? That everyone would bend over and grab their ankles in submission? Apparently, they did.

So, to this point the tariffs just become a big pissing match, until someone begins standing down and eating crow, this will only get worse. I guess things could really get a lot messier if the pissing match continues indefinitely. Wonder if the Trump team expected that to happen?

I heard on the news Trump was already calling for Powell to start cutting rates right away. That didn't take very long. LOL

China put 34% tariffs on us today. What's the big deal? We sell almost nothing to them anyway.

I saw on TV just now they're saying the Fed will cut 5 times this year. Why? The jobs numbers this morning were very good. No reason to cut rates unless it's an attempt to prop up the stock market. THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THE CUTS WOULD BE FOR.

This is all just a bunch of bullshit.

P.S.: Silver is getting more attractive today for sure.

All the Talking Heads are now claiming that the tariffs are just realigning the deck chairs on the Titanic and after we hit the iceberg everything will be fine. LOL

IMO the shit storm is just getting started. On any given day you can hear the pundits saying the Fed will not be cutting rates because inflation is still elevated, and the tariffs could make inflation much worse. That could happen, but the way I see it with the higher costs associated with the tariffs we're going to see people quit buying things. If you lost your job, you'll reign in your spending, not buy more stuff. If the price of the car you're looking to buy goes up 25% because of the tariffs, you're probably going to wait before you buy or not buy at all.

In other words, we're headed for a recession and maybe a very severe one. Trump's tariffs are going to slow spending around the world, not just in the U.S, so the pain will be felt in every country that Trump levied a tariff on yesterday. Many of these countries may not capitulate right away or even not at all.

It wouldn't surprise me if Powell cuts rates at the next Fed meeting. They'll see the horrible jobs numbers and most likely freak out. Funny how everything is smooth sailing, UNTIL IT'S NOT ANYMORE.

The jobs market is rolling over now in a big way.

So, what we see in the premarket this morning is to be expected with PM's. The gap down in the overall market is hitting gold and silver prices too, as the big gains in PM's are also being sold this morning.

I'm not sure how bad the selling will get, but if it continues, then I would expect a deeper correction to come with the PM's. I don't really see how they can avoid some sort of downturn in the economy going forward.
