Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman wants to take control of Manchester United as early as this season, according to reports in the UK press.

Bin Salman has reportedly tabled a $4.9 billion bid for the Old Trafford club following an initial approach back in October.

The Sun reported that the initial bid was put on ice after the diplomatic row following the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi Arabian embassy in Istanbul, Turkey. Some have linked the killing to the Saudi crown prince, known as MBS.
But Bin Salman is reportedly returning for a second attempt to buy the famous English Premier League club in a bid to challenge United's cross-town rivals Manchester City, who are owned by Sheikh Mansour of the Abu Dhabi royal family.

United's current owners, the Glazer family, have owned the club since buying it for £790 million 2005 and listed it on the New York Stock Exchange in 2012.



The Glazers, who own the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers franchise, are reportedly uninterested in selling their controlling shares in the club.

The Saudi royal family's total wealth is in excess of $1 trillion, according to some estimates.

i would like to express my disgust of what's happening with the English clubs in Europe. unfcking believable. no British clubs in the quoter finals of UEFA Champions League. not only that, but British soccer is 10 years behind in evolution. the last team in the Barclay's premier league table makes more than Bayern Munchen.
most of the players in the league make between $100,000-$500,000 per week, and produce a pyss poor performance. i'd fire everybody making more than $100,000 per week. who cares who'll be Barclay's champion. being a champion in England compared to Uefa champions league winner is like being a champion of Sussex. i'm done watching British soccer for this season, and i'm inviting everybody else to boycott it! i'll give it another try next year.

LAUGHABLE Keen Manchester United fans will have to wait a little longer before getting their new Angel Di Maria shirts printed – after the club’s official shop ran out of the letter ‘R’.

The Argentina international will have a medical with The Red Devils on Monday ahead of his £64m transfer from Real Madrid, with the winger set to take on the number 7 jersey once he completes his move to the English giants.

However, United supporters who travelled to Old Trafford to get Di Maria’s name printed on their shirts on Bank Holiday Monday were left disappointed after a sign outside the official club store informed fans that there were no ‘R’ letters left in black print.

But, United fans need not fear.

We’re guessing that with Di Maria set to be confirmed as a new Red Devils player within the next few days, United’s club store will make sure they have every letter – and especially ‘R’ – re-stocked as quickly as possible.
