International stocks trading in New York closed mostly higher on Tuesday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts edged up 0.9% to 153.57. The European index ticked up 0.7% to 148.50. The Asian index climbed 1.6% to 176.70. The Latin American index moved down 0.3% to 207.01, while the emerging-markets index rose 1.4% to 297.17.

Carnival was among those whose ADRs traded actively.

The global cruise and vacation company gained 9.9%, rebounding from Monday's selloff that came as the company said costs have been climbing and are expected to exceed previous estimates for the year. However, Carnival also reported its loss narrowed while revenue doubled in its latest quarter, topping analysts' forecasts.

AMTD Digital moved up 7.8% a day after it confirmed certain parties won't sell any shares they own in the digital solutions application developer in the open market before August 2025.
