Worldsec Limited - Acquisition Completed

Further to the announcement made on 24th December, 1997, Worldsec today
announces that it has received regulatory approval and has completed the
acquisition of the securities broking business of Jin Loong Securities Company
Limited.  A cash consideration of HK$8.1 million (equivalent to approximately
US$1.05 million) has been paid.

It is expected that necessary regulatory approval for the acquisition of the
futures broking business of Jin Loong Futures Limited will be obtained by end of
March 1998, by which time further consideration, as to HK$4.05 million
(equivalent to approximately US$0.52 million) in cash and as to approximately
HK$10.5 million (equivalent to US$1.36 million) by issuing new ordinary shares
in Worldsec at US$2.90 per share, will be paid.
