OXFORD INSTRUMENTS PLC

The Directors of Oxford Instruments plc will be meeting on Thursday 12
November 1998 to approve the accounts for the half year to 30 September 1998
for publication and to agree the Interim Dividend for the year to 31 March
1999.

The Dividend will be payable on 8 April 1999 to members on the register at the
close of business on 5 March 1999 (the record date).

The announcement of the company's Interim Results will be released to the
Stock Exchange on Thursday 12 November 1998.
