OLD MUTUAL SOUTH AFRICA TRUST PLC ("the Company")



RESULTS OF THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING



The Company announces that, at this morning's Annual General Meeting, Resolution
9 in favour of the Company continuing for a further year as an investment trust
was not carried.  The votes cast were 21,330,140 in favour and 24,602,758
against.



All other resolutions were passed.



In accordance with the Company's Articles of Association, the Directors are now
required to consider proposals for the future of the Company and to notify these
to shareholders.



The Board intends, as soon as practicable, to put forward proposals for the
liquidation of the Company to return cash to shareholders.  In the meantime the
Board intends to continue to conduct the affairs of the Company in accordance
with the investment objective.


The Board will communicate further with shareholders in the new year.
