CREST PACKAGING plc (the "Company")

The Company was informed today that R A J Webb acquired yesterday in the
market 510,000 Ordinary shares of 5p each, representing 1.3% of the issued
share capital of the Company, at a price of 38p per share.

The total number of Ordinary shares in which R A J Webb is interested or
deemed to be interested is 24,173,609, representing 60.30% of the issued share
capital of the Company, of which 14,735,000 shares, representing 36.76% of the
issued share capital of the Company, are held by family trusts.
