Cancellation of listing of Subscription Shares

Further to the announcement made on 12 May 2016, the Board of BlackRock Greater Europe Investment Trust plc (the ‘Company’) announces that the standard listing of the Subscription Shares will be cancelled at 8.00 a.m. today. In accordance with the Company’s Articles of Association, the Company will simultaneously reclassify the remaining 20,014,801 Subscription Shares into Deferred Shares. The Company will then have the right to redeem all of the Deferred Shares at a price not exceeding 1 penny for all the Deferred Shares redeemed.

A notice regarding the redemption of the Deferred Shares will be published on the legal notices page within The Register of The Times on 2 June 2016. Following the redemption of the Deferred Shares, to be effective from noon on 17 June 2016, the Company’s issued share capital will only comprise Ordinary Shares.
