TOKYO--Nintendo Co. (7974.OK) said Friday it will start selling a new version of its hand-held 3DS game console equipped with larger screens.

The two screens on the Nintendo 3DS LL are 1.9 times larger than conventional 3DS screens in terms of area, the Kyoto-based company said.

Nintendo said it plans to sell the new model in Japan and Europe from July 28 and in the U.S. from August 19.

The recommended price in Japan is 18,900 yen.
