--German auto maker Daimler will decide on the future of its ailing Smart brand this year, German daily Handelsblatt reported, citing unnamed sources.

--Katrin Adt, the head of Smart, has been looking for a partner in China and the company has been in talks with Chinese manufacturers BAIC and Geely, according to the German newspaper.
