Looks to me like the Form 4 filed on Friday was not a purchase but an award.

Escalon Medical is pretty much under the radar at this point. I think that could change soon.

From 10Q,the share count was 7.6 million........
and after the conversion of note from preferred to common shares,the dilutive share count becomes 11.9(=7.6+4.3). The stated cost of the 4.3 million shares is around 12c,the management is no dummy,and they knew exactly what they were doing,while maintaining majority control:a bit aggressive,up to 67% voting control first,then drop down to 35% when everything said and done.Not too abusive or it could had taken more from the shareholders.

Based on this quarter and going forward,I believe eps=8c is sustainable for 2018,ex-$500K.
In the nutshell:

sg&a is down to 35% of revenue vs 40% in 2017;
R&D is down 4% of revenue.

2018 net income=sale*5%,business model is working.

I didn't do the calc -- I just know it is really good for the price. The $500,000 software license revenue helped a lot, but even without that it looks good. And with the debt being moved into pref shares - more good stuff.

I need to look into the $500,000 thing - I wonder if there may be more of those coming down the road. IF so we are in a 10 bagger.

Did I read that right - .09 EPS? There is also the 8-K filing, Change in Control. I agree, should move up from here.

"On February 14, 2018, the Company entered into a Debt Exchange Agreement (the “Exchange Agreement”) with Richard J. DePiano Sr. (“Mr. DePiano”), the Company's Chairman and DP Associates Inc. Profit-Sharing Plan of which Mr. DePiano is the sole owner and sole trustee (the “Holders”). Pursuant to the terms of the Exchange Agreement, effective February 15, 2018, the Holders are exchanging a total of $645,000 principal amount of debt the Company owes the Holders (See Note 6) for 2,000,000 shares of Series A Convertible Preferred Stock (the “Preferred Stock”).

Each share the Preferred Stock entitles the Holder thereof to 13 votes per share and will vote together with all other classes and series of stock of the Company as a single class on all actions to be taken by the Company’s stockholders. With MC=$1.3 million or 17c per share,I believe this company is way too cheap;and more than likely it would continue its 10%+ q/q topline growth since last q.This may seen too short of a period to be sure but at this MC,again,it is a GREAT bargain.

I believe this company may be back from ashes and starting outperform as the article noted.I could be wrong,but the risk/reward is just too attracting to ignore.

holy cow, nothing here since 2007. esmc has opportunity galore but Sonomed management has no vision. They had a doctor from Calif who was going to pull them forward but he left and now sells a imaging device he invented and builds for taking pictures of mouse and rat retinas. would have been a nice revenue contributor. chairman is bright guy with tons of M&A experience, but not the worlds best manager but great knowledge of wine. lets see if they can get back to over $3.

Anyone want to comment on Escalon's future prospects since the recent runnup and subsequent retrace?

Highly doubt it usually when the 200 day moving average crosses over the 50 day moving average you are in for trouble. However, unlike you I will admit, I could be wrong. You think you are such an expert. Give me a break. You show characteristics of someone who has taken a real beating on the marker lately. JMHO.

ESMC in 2006 will be a good performer imo. a little over what 6 million shares on the float.
