Correction From Source: Sandspring Grants Annual Stock Options to Officers and Directors

Sandspring Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:SSP) (the "Company") announced on
February 18, 2013, that the Company has granted to officers and directors
1,280,000 stock options to purchase common shares of the Company. The correct
number of annual stock options granted to officers and directors was 1,405,000.
The stock options are exercisable at $0.41 per share and will expire on 7
February, 2018. This stock option grant is subject to regulatory approval.
