it was invited by Tencent
USA, a subsidiary of Tencent Holdings (collectively "Tencent") to take part in a marketing event at
Quicken Loans Arena on February 27,
2018 during a basketball game between the Cleveland
Cavaliers and the Brooklyn Nets in celebration of Chinese New
Year.
First Global worked with Tencent
to host a number of executives from North American retail and a
variety of other strategic organizations. The event was well
attended and enjoyed by all.
As set out in the Corporation's press releases of February 1, 2018, the Corporation has entered
into a strategic relationship with Tencent whereby the two companies will work
closely together to expand merchant acquiring, processing and
settlement services in the USA.
The service is designed to enable existing WeChat users traveling
from China to make payments from
their WeChat mobile wallet at retailers and merchants located in
the USA.
