Cleanfield Announces Successful Response to RFP for Turbine Testing Leading to Certification

Cleanfield Alternative Energy Inc. (Cleanfield) (TSX VENTURE:AIR) is pleased to
announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Cleanfield Energy Corp, has been
chosen as one of five companies to have their wind turbine tested by the Wind
Energy Institute of Canada (WEICan) at the WEICan site at North Cape, Prince
Edward Island. This award has been made by WEICan in response to Cleanfield's
proposal submitted in response to WEICan's September 2007 'Testing Leading to
Certification' RFP. The RFP was offered by WEICan to identify and conduct
independent testing on commercially available small wind turbines (SWTs). These
tests are defined in detail by IEC Standards and, where applicable, by the draft
American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) standard for SWTs. Testing will be
compliant with International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards. Type
Tests will be conducted in accordance with the (yet to be finalized) North
American small wind standard. It is intended that turbine manufacturers will
then have those test results certified by the newly-established North American
Small Wind Certification Corporation (SWCC).
