Western Union Responds to Colorado Wildfires

To help the victims of the Colorado wildfires, the worst in state history, The Western Union Foundation, the philanthropic arm of The Western Union Company (NYSE: WU) with global headquarters in Englewood, Colorado, today announced disaster relief efforts in support of the community.

The Western Union Foundation will match designated employee contributions up to $50,000 to benefit the Colorado Fire Relief Fund 2012.

“The Colorado wildfires have generated a number of challenges of epic proportions for residents and businesses, prompting massive evacuations and destroying properties,” said Luella Chavez D'Angelo, senior vice president, Western Union Social Ventures and president, Western Union Foundation. “We are committed to helping the communities we serve and join the people of Colorado, Governor John Hickenlooper, and the Colorado Fire Relief Fund 2012 during this time of need.”

The Colorado Fire Relief Fund 2012, first announced by Governor John Hickenlooper, benefits Colorado communities impacted by wildfires in 2012. These funds will be administered and distributed by a committee of community foundation executives appointed by the governor.
