Captiva Software Corporation (NASDAQ:CPTV), a leading provider of
input management solutions, today announced that ESI, a healthcare
revenue cycle business process outsourcing (BPO) company, has
selected Captiva's Digital Mailroom(TM), InputAccel(R) and Claims
Editor Professional(TM) software to increase efficiency and
accuracy in capturing and processing patient documents for its
customers. The value of the contract to Captiva is approximately
$660,000. ESI will utilize the Digital Mailroom and InputAccel to
capture, extract, validate and route data from patient registration
forms, patient encounter forms and other documents that hospitals
and healthcare providers submit to ESI for processing. After
performing these tasks, the solutions will export the digital
content into a Hyland OnBase(R) enterprise content management (ECM)
system. In addition, ESI will utilize Captiva's Claims Editor
Professional to help code and edit claims for its clients before
submitting the claim data to the payer community for payment. These
solutions will enable ESI to provide its clients with more
efficient and accurate processing, leading to faster reimbursement
and shorter revenue cycles. "We spent three months evaluating
numerous competitive products, but Captiva was the only company
that could provide us with all of the tightly integrated components
and services we required to support our overall offering," said Jay
Lopez, Vice President of Information Systems at ESI. "Captiva's
sales and implementation teams have been extremely thorough in
crafting and supporting our customer-centric solutions and we have
been very pleased with the results so far. Because of our expanded
capabilities, we are exploring additional ways of utilizing the
Captiva solutions to further enhance our service offerings to our
customers." "We're pleased ESI is leveraging Captiva's solutions
for its revenue cycle outsourcing services," said Howard Dratler,
Captiva's Executive Vice President of Field Operations. "The
merging of the Digital Mailroom, InputAccel and Claims Editor
Professional in this application provides a unique combination of
capabilities that will enable ESI to reduce administrative overhead
while providing consistent, quality services to its customers
through increased efficiencies and improved data accuracy." The
Digital Mailroom is an automated classification and routing system
for digitized images of paper documents and electronic
communications. InputAccel is Captiva's award-winning document
capture software that transforms mission-critical data from paper
and faxes into business-ready content. Claims Editor Professional
is advanced clinical editing software that ensures claims are
properly coded and in accordance with applicable state Medicare,
Medicaid and other third-party payer rules and regulations. About
