(NYSE Amex: HPJ), a developer, manufacturer and marketer of nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) and lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries and related products, today announced the results of its 2009 Annual Meeting of Stockholders held August 20th, 2009 in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, People's Republic of China. The Company's stockholders approved two proposals set forth in its proxy statement dated July 28th, 2009. The approved proposals were:

--  The re-election of five members to the Company's Board of Directors,
    as identified in the Company's proxy statement, until the Company's Annual
    Meeting of Stockholders in 2010, or until their successors are elected and
    qualified;
--  The ratification of Dominic K.F. Chan & Co., as the Company's
    independent registered public accounting firm for the fiscal year ending
    December 31, 2009.
