(NYSE:HST) today announced that it will redeem 5,980,000 shares of its 10% Class C cumulative redeemable preferred stock, which represents all of the issued and outstanding shares, on May 19, 2006. The 10% Class C cumulative redeemable preferred stock will be redeemed at a redemption price of $25.00 per share, plus $0.2361 per share of dividends accrued from April 15, 2006 to the redemption date of May 19, 2006. In addition, the Company will redeem the remaining balance of its 7 7/8% Series B senior notes due 2008 in the principal amount of approximately $136 million on May 15, 2006. In connection with the redemption of the Series B senior notes, the Company will pay a call premium of 1.328% of the principal amount of the notes.
